I have received numerous awards, highlighting my commitment to excellence in digital production and consultancy for museums and cultural hubs. The project, MCA.ART, was a Webby Winner in 2022 for Best Mobile User Experience, showcasing innovative design and functionality. This project also received the Australian Good Design Award in October 2021, being recognized as Best in Class in the category of Digital, Web Design, and Development.

In 2019, we received the ATOM Award for Best Indigenous Video or Website, emphasising the dedication of a full team and I to promote Indigenous art and culture. My leadership in projects was also recognized at the MuseWeb 2019 GLAMi awards, where I was a project leader for a winning website, https://www.johnmawurndjul.com/ in the Education and Collection Extension category.

Additionally, I have been a finalist at the ATOM awards in 2009 for the project on "Tradition and Transformation" and "Pictures of the Floating World," both of which aimed to use new technologies to help explore, understand, teach, and learn about art.

PICTURES OF THE FLOATING WORLD

Producer - Direction - NGV Production - 2009

Stories From Old Japan is a simple animation system that allows students to create stories using the characters and backgrounds of the Pictures of the Floating World. It works particularly well as a small group exercise on an electronic whiteboard. Selected by the New Media Consortium (US) for 2010 Horizon Report K-12 Edition ‘Floating World’ was reported as one of four world-wide exemplars of an exciting collaborative, digital, game-based learning tool 2-3 years ahead of the mainstream. “Education in general is still a few years away from embracing games as mainstream practice, but given the exciting results coming from game- based research, they are clearly a space to watch.”
